LM30 Drill Rig from Boart Longyear

Boart Longyear has developed easy to operate and competitively priced drills. Many components come from the stable of well know reliable LM Drill Range. The two new models are designed to use the conventional LTK 48 or LTK 60 coring systems. Wireline capabilities are not available with either option. Pricing also will include a new, specifically designed 712 water pump that is hydraulically controlled from the control panel.

A new direct coupled feed frame designed around the durable 700 series feed frame is also used. In standard configuration it will have a 1.1 metre stroke and an operating length of 2.6 metres. Push / pull force of approx 30kN (3000 kg) will ensure that rated depth capacity is not difficult to reach. The rotation unit and rod holder are the current BQ units borrowed from the LM 45 product range.

This drill uses a Case XT 40 Skid Steer carrier to transport the feed frame and water pump. This mobility ensures quick set up time and ease of moving from site to site. This is powered by a 45 kW (60 HP) Case 4 cylinder diesel engine. This also provides the hydraulic power to run the rotation unit, direct coupled feed frame, integral water pump and feed tilt. Water or air cooling is used to cool the hydraulics.
