Aurcana Identifies Fresh Mineralized Silver at La Negra Mine

Aurcana has discovered fresh deeper mineralization below 1920 m of the mine’s level through the underground drill program at the La Negra mine, which contains copper, lead, silver and zinc, in Mexico.

The company returned strong values of copper and silver in the drill holes IBX-02, 03, 04, 06 and 07. The high-grade values obtained ranges from 1.18% to 3.12% of copper and 120 g/t to 405 g/t silver.

The manto and chimney style deposits in the skarn zones are featured in the La Negra deposits. These skarn zones are developed near the contact of a huge intrusive body and limestone units.

The main aim of the company is to persist replacing and extending the ore resources at the La Negra mine by combining underground drilling and expansion. Aurcana drilled 10 holes at four sites to outline the dip and strike levels of well mineralized and moderately dipping beds in the Breccia Norte zone.

Aurcana’s CEO and President, Lenic Rodriguez has stated that the yearly developments and explorations have replaced the ore continually, since this operation was resumed, by supporting the extensions of mine production. The company has updated the database and expects a fresh 43-101 compliant resource and reserve calculation in early 2012.

Further drilling program and expansion have been planned to outline the levels of the mineralized mantos. The La Negra operation is filing for NI 43-101 standards to certify several mineralized zones that contain the Breccia Norte.

The company conducted underground drill program through its owned and operated drill rigs. The core was tested by the mine laboratory, operated by employees of Minera La Negra.
