Redstar Gold Obtains Additional High-Grade Gold Results from Newman Todd Project

Redstar Gold has declared that further high-grade gold results have been received from the diamond holes drilled during the 2012 campaign performed at the Newman Todd property, Ontario.

Plan Map

The company is conducting a drilling campaign at the project and the program is completely funded by Confederation Minerals. About 5,300 of drilling, totaling 14 holes, have been completed in this year’s program. Redstar is waiting for the results from holes NT-119 to NT-124.

The 2012 drilling campaign has targeted to infill the Hinge Zone on 25 m to comprehend the geological controls of the mineralized gold. An updated geological analysis recommends that extensive folding may be present in the sequence and this folding may control the mineralized gold. The Newman Todd Structure (NTS) contains magnetite and silica-sulphide replacement zones, which are nothing but gold mineralization. The NTS is a huge hydrothermal alteration zone with extensive gold mineralization, carbonate-iron veining and multi-phase brecciation.

The company has encountered 13.8 g/t gold over 1.0 m and 2.04 g/t gold over 29.0 m in hole NT-115; 43.50 g/t gold over 1.0 m in hole NT-118; and 63.3 g/t gold over 0.50 m, 15.0 g/t gold over 1.0 m, 7.48 g/t gold over 3.0 m and 7.48 g/t gold over 5.5 m in hole NT-117.

Redstar Gold’s President, R. Bob Singh commented that the company is encouraged by the drilling results received from the project. Among any program conducted in Red Lake during previous years, this 2012 campaign is believed to bring a high success rate. The present 'fold-model' analysis underlines an important resemblance to the Red Lake mine complex’s high grade zone. The company has started to scratch the new high-grade old system’s surface at the shallo depths in the Red Lake.
