Southern Silver Exploration has begun to drill 1,500 m of the phase II diamond drill program at its Oro project, USA.
The company has identified several drill targets, which have scheduled to examine numerous deposit types that contain gold-copper porphyries, intrusion-associated gold, polymetallic replacement or skarn deposits. It has planned to drill in a mineralized corridor, which is more than 2 km long, situated in the significant gold-silver Eureka mining district.
The company has collared the primary ORO11-006 hole in a potential region, situated between two anomalous holes drilled during 2010. It has expected an approximate depth of 600 m in the hole and has planned to perform down hole IP geophysics after finishing the coring phase for creating fresh targets.
Recently, the company has included 40 further claims to the Oro project for enclosing numerous aerial magnetic geophysical anomalies, which frequently coincides with the mapped modification groups that signifies the possibility for a huge mineralizing system at the property. Further geochemical sample compilation and magnetic susceptibility evaluations at different surface sites and from 2010 drill cores of Southern Silver have been incorporated in the field analysis. These readings have allowed a more comprehensive analysis of the aerial magnetics, which when joined with the further geochemical information has permitted the drill locations to be selected for two initial exploration targets, such as a deeply covered huge gold-copper porphyry target and a near surface gold target.
