Newstrike Capital has announced the new discovery at the Ana Paula project through the expansion of the hole AP-11-67.
The company has intersected 3.15 g/t gold over 7.98 m, 1.92 g/t gold over 15.51 m, 1.34 g/t gold over 21.20 m and 0.96 g/t gold over 36.00 m.
The hole AP-11-67 is situated to the southwest of the surface gold anomaly, which is the initial exploration target at the project. This step out hole is of one kilometre length towards the discovery hole AP-10-19’s southwest part. The company previously encountered 0.81 g/t gold over 4.50 m from this hole. It expanded the hole to its target depth, and several gold bearing horizons were cut by the hole. Shallow mineralization is found in the hole AP-11-67 and is continuing through the vertical drill hole. This mineralization is present in an inter-layered hornfels, intrusion, and skarn environment identical to the drilled region at the project. This discovery has validated the size, analysis and scope of the project.
The company will start the exploratory campaign for 2012 with a four drilling rig program, which will continually explore the Ana Paula target. This program has included the current definition drill program at the Breccia zone and contiguous mineralization and also the follow up drilling at the discovery hole AP-11-67. Newstrike is working continuously for a proposed NI43-101 resource calculation at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
This project is located central to the company’s 88,000 ha in the GGB and establishes a portion of a district scale mining camp, which has the Morelos Project of Torex Gold and Los Filos project of Goldcorp.
