North Arrow Provides Update on the Mel Diamond Project and LDG Joint Venture Diamond Project

North Arrow Minerals Inc. takes immense pleasure in announcing an update on the Mel Diamond Project, Nunavut and the LDG Joint Venture Diamond Project, Northwest Territories.

Mel Project Till Sample Results

Results of final kimberlite indicator mineral (KIM) have been obtained for 447 till samples obtained during the 2018 field program at the Company’s 100% owned Mel Project, situated within 18 km of the Arctic Ocean, about 140 km south of the community of Hall Beach and 210 km northeast of North Arrow’s Naujaat Diamond Project close to the community of Naujaat. KIMs, in the range of 1 to 34 grains, have been recovered from 35 out of 447 till samples collected at the time of the 2018 program.

The samples had a minimal field weight of 10 kg and were collected on an estimated 1 km x 1 km grid to offer whole, even-spaced coverage across the 56,000 ha property. Positive samples have increased the width of the North Mel KIM target by around 750 m, to a total width of 3600 m.

Particularly, a sample recovering 34 KIMs including Mg-ilmenite, eclogitic garnet, and Cr-pyrope was situated about 1200 m north of the considerably diamondiferous ML8 kimberlite occurrences discovered during the 2018 drilling program (please refer North Arrow news release published on September 24th, 2018) and is inferred as a potential fourth KIM train within the North Mel target area.

Due to sampling in the southern part of the property, the south Mel KIM target area has extended, including the most anomalous sample recovered so far in this region (15 KIMs including Mg-ilmenite, Cr-pyrope, and eclogitic garnet). Subsequent steps for the Mel Project include further prospecting and till sampling to better define regions with unresolved indicator minerals, and also further geophysics to better define particular drill targets at the head(s) of more well-defined KIM trains. Meetings with the community of Hall Beach to reveal the full results of the 2018 exploration program are planned for early April 2019.

KIM results from the 2018 till sampling program have broadened the target areas within the Mel Project. We look forward to conducting additional follow-up till sampling, prospecting, geophysics, and drilling in this new diamondiferous kimberlite field.

Exploration Underway at LDG Joint Venture

Furthermore, North Arrow takes immense pleasure in declaring the commencement of the 2019 exploration program at the LDG Joint Venture Property in the Lac de Gras region of the Northwest Territories. Dominion Diamond Mines, the company partner and operator, has specified that a program of ground geophysical surveys is ongoing, with the objective of finalizing target selection for an exploration drilling program this summer.

These surveys are part of a $2.8 million 2019 exploration program on the LDG property and are focused on kimberlite discovery in this potential area directly south of, and next to, the Diavik Diamond Mine. The program is being completely funded by Dominion after which it is anticipated that North Arrow will hold a 21% interest in the Project.

The Mel Diamond Project field program is managed and supervised by Michael MacMorran, P.Geo. (NU/NWT), Project Geologist for North Arrow. North Arrow’s diamond exploration programs are carried out under the guidance of Kenneth Armstrong, P.Geo. (ON), President and CEO of North Arrow and a Qualified Person under NI 43-101. The contents of this press release have been reviewed by Mr MacMorran and Mr Armstrong.
