On behalf of Hyperdynamics, AGR Peak Well Management (AGR) has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Jasper Drilling of Singapore to engage the drill ship Jasper Explorer for drilling at Hyperdynamics' concession offshore area, the Republic of Guinea.
The Jasper Explorer is a self-propelled drill ship that has the ability of operating in water up to 5,000 feet depth. It is of the new Pelican Class type. It is anticipated that AGR and Jasper Drilling would sign the contract in a few days. In support of Hyperdynamics, AGR has performed the drill ship tender. During the phase drill, AGR will offer management services, which are likely to commence in the fourth quarter of 2011.
According to Hyperdynamics, the key element in preparing the drilling program is choosing a drilling contractor for the offshore Guinea concession.
The Jasper Explorer provides flexibility in choosing preliminary drilling sites and has the capacity of drilling in a broad range of water depths.
