American Petro-Hunter Commences Drilling at North Oklahoma Project

American Petro-Hunter has begun drilling operations at its latest well location on the North Oklahoma Project. It has moved the drilling equipment with preparations for NOM1H, the first horizontal well.

The company has planned to spud the NOM1H well and this is the first horizontal well developed to explore the Mississippi structure. The recent demand in drilling and leasing in Oklahoma can be attributed to the more than 100-foot thick limestone . In recent months, companies like Sandridge and Calyx have planned, executed hundreds of horizontal wells. Sandridge has drilled and finished 29 wells with remaining 8 wells to be accomplished in the region.

It is expected that the NOM1H well will take many weeks to achieve its engineered overall depth and will endure testing and assessment. The activity in the region has become very competitive and comprehensive production rate data of commercial oil and gas quantities is increasing. Therefore, the company will attempt to update stakeholders with assay results on a timely basis.

The company has started the initial venture for drilling horizontal well. This first venture provides possibility to increase the significant oil production. American Petro-Hunter is looking for an opportunity to trace out 'big oil' in Oklahoma.
