Benton Resources Receives Drilling Assays from Abernethy Gold Project

Benton Resources has obtained the diamond drilling assay results from the Abernethy gold project, which is situated 10 km towards the southwest part of Kenora in Ontario. Drilling has validated the capability to define a considerable gold resource at the property.

The company drilled nine holes out of seven, which examined the key horizon and its additional two testing regions in north and south. The main horizon is called the Mingold zone, which has been outlined around a strike length of 550 m and core length of up to 77 m, is open in every direction. A single hole drilled by Hudbay minerals and three holes drilled by MinGold identified the Mingold zone.

The drill program by the company validated and extended the mineralization at near surface depths and in strike length. The gold mineralization has demanded for an additional drill program in order to examine the full level, potential and grade of this fresh discovery. The mineralization seems to be a huge gold system along with several parallel zones, depending on the limited near-surface diamond drill program.

The company has intersected 7.78 g/t gold over 1.5 m, 4.48 g/t gold over 0.6 in the hole ABE11-01, 0.98 g/t gold over 3 m in the hole ABE11-03, 6.96 g/t gold over 1.5 m, 2.56 g/t gold over 4.4 m, 1.85 g/t gold over 1.7 m in the hole ABE11-04, 0.34 g/t gold over 2.5 m in the hole ABE11-05, 1.46 g/t gold over 1.95 m, 0.78 g/t gold over 2.6 m in the hole ABE11-06, 2.24 g/t gold over 7.5 m in the hole ABE11-07, 1.22 g/t gold over 1.5 m in the hole ABE11-08 and 0.9 g/t gold over 1.32 m, 0.82 g/t gold over 2.45 m in the hole ABE11-09.
