Almaden Minerals Reports Drilling Results from Tuligtic Project in Mexico

Almaden Minerals, a mineral exploration company, has declared additional assay results from the four drill reconnaissance campaign on its Tuligtic project located in Mexico.

The company drilled TU-12-100 and TU-12-103 holes on the Northeast Extension Zone, along the north and strike of the Main Ixtaca Zone. These holes encountered major gold grades, with TU-12-103 intercepting the highest grades till date on the Northeast Extension Zone. The company drilled TU-11-95, TU-12-97, and 101 to 104 holes on the Main Ixtaca Zone.

Holes TU-12-99 and TU-12-105 were drilled towards the south of the Main Ixtaca Zone and on the Southeast Extension Zone, respectively. Final assay results are pending for TU-12-96 hole in the Main Ixtaca Zone and TU-12-98 hole in the Northeast Extension Zone.

Drill highlights from the existing set of assays comprise a number of intercepts. Hole TU-11-95 Main Ixtaca Zone, section 650 intercepted 38.33 m at 0.51 g/t gold and 69.9 g/t silver including 4.70 m at 0.92 g/t gold and 194.2 g/t silver; hole TU-12-97 Main Ixtaca Zone, section 700 intercepted 59.00 m at 0.68 g/t gold and 41.1 g/t silver including 2.55 m at 8.55 g/t gold and 506.2 g/t silver; hole TU-12-100 Northeast Extension, section 1100 intercepted 17.20 m at 1.19 g/t gold and 58.4 g/t silver; hole TU-12-101 Main Ixtaca Zone, section 600 intercepted 31.80 m at 1.33 g/t gold and 103.7 g/t silver and 11.40 m at 3.82 g/t gold and 24.3 g/t silver; hole TU-12-103 Northeast Extension, section 1100 intercepted 70.00 m at 1.17 g/t gold and 46.2 g/t silver including 17.00 m at 3.74 gold and 67.4 g/t silver; and hole TU-12-104 Main Ixtaca Zone, section 700 intercepted 111.25 m at 0.59 g/t gold and 28.3 g/t silver including 8.50 m at 1.14 gold and 119.7 g/t silver.

Almaden Minerals’ Chairman J.D. Poliquin stated that the company is happy with the latest results which validate the Ixtaca zone as a broad system of veining with sections carrying high grades of silver and gold. The Ixtaca vein system, including the veining of the Ixtaca North zone, is broader than previously identified. The results from the Northeast Extension Zone reveal that high gold grades and strong mineralization exist in this region. Drilling on the Ixtaca vein system reveals excellent continuity of mineralization in vertical and horizontal dimensions.

Almaden Minerals is presently operating four drills on the Tuligtic project and intends to continue the drilling activities right through 2012.
