Almaden Minerals has declared additional results from the four drill exploration campaign that is currently being conducted at the Tuligtic project in Mexico. The company drilled the hole TU-12-145 into the Ixtaca north zone, which is a parallel zone developing towards the main Ixtaca zone. High-grades were encountered in hole TU-12-145, which extends the prominent Ixtaca north zone.
The company intersected 0.74 g/t gold and 369.1 g/t silver over 19.00 m, 0.83 g/t gold and 443.6 g/t silver over 15.60 m, 1.09 g/t gold and 580.7 g/t silver over 11.00 m, 1.13 g/t gold and 860.7 g/t silver over 6.80 m, and 0.79 g/t gold and 41.2 g/t silver over 47.90 m in hole TU-12-145 drilled at the Ixtaca north zone.
Almaden’s Chairman, J.D. Poliquin stated that these fresh results are continuously validating and expanding the Ixtaca mineralisation, which is a strong veining system with sections carrying high-grade silver and gold. The Ixtaca vein system is broader when compared to the previous one. The fresh results obtained from the Ixtaca North zone indicate the occurrence of higher grades in several regions of the Ixtaca vein system. Drilling at the Ixtaca vein system represents good overall mineralisation continuity in both vertical and horizontal dimensions.
Currently, the company has four drill rigs operating at the Tuligtic project and it is planning to continue the drilling activities throughout 2012.
