Strike Averted at Codelco Copper Mine

Codleco’s No 3 copper mine unionized workers have accepted a new wage offer made to them on Wednesday. This averted a possible strike at the Radomiro Tmoic mine of Codelco, after the 20 day walkout at the nearby giant Collahuasi copper mine had already got the world concerned about Chile’s copper ore supply.

Nevada Copper to Begin 20,000 M Drilling Program at Pumpkin Hollow Property

Nevada Copper Corp. (TSX:NCU) has announced that it will move forward with a 20,000 meter drill program commencing in December which will focus on the expansion of existing resources as well as testing several targets on its 22 square mile Pumpkin Hollow property.

Palabora Appeals Mining Right Decision in South Africa

Rio Tinto's South African subsidiary Palabora Mining Co has filed an appeal against the government decision to strip it of some of its mining rights. The copper producing company is appealing about the granting of a mining right to a third party in an area where the company already holds an old order mining right.
