Antrim Energy Drills at Erne Prospect

Antrim Energy has started the drilling operations at the Erne prospect in the UK Central North Sea block 21/29d, in which the company has 50% of working interest.

The Eocene Tay Formation oil prospect, Erne, is located between the Northwest Guillemot and Fyne at around 6,000 ft of drilling depth. The location of the Erne well is around 6 km to the 21/28a-10z well’s northeast part in the Fyne Field, analyzing the rate of flow for up to 4,000 barrels of oil per day.

Premier Oil UK committed to give an endorsed share of the drill coats and purchased a 50% of interest in the Erne licence. Drilling services and project management have been engaged by the company to AGR Well Management by employing the WilPheonix semi submersible drill rig.

The location of the Erne well is in 6 km of Tay reservoirs and will not be examined. But sidetrack drilling may be chosen after the appraisal of the primary drill results. The company has assumed that the drilling of the well will take up to 23 days.

After the Erne well is drilled, the rig will be mobilized to the Carra drilling prospect in block 21/28b, which is around 4 km to the Fyne Field’s southeast part.

Additionally, Antrim and its partners have scheduled to drill an assessment well at the Fyne Field previous to this year end.
