Benton Launches Initial Diamond Drill Program at Staghorn Gold Project

Benton Resources Inc. is pleased to announce that the Company has launched their initial diamond drill program at the Staghorn Gold project (under option from Metals Creek Resources Corp., see Benton press release dated Nov. 18, 2014).

The first drill hole has been completed with the second well under way at the Ryan's Hammer gold showing. The planned drill program consists of 1000 to 1500 metres in numerous shallow holes designed to test several surface gold occurrences, gold-in-soil anomalies and various Induced Polarization (IP) targets generated by the recently completed ground geophysical survey. Two of the priority targets to be drill tested include the high grade Ryan's Hammer trend, where selective grab samples from numerous large angular mineralized boulders and outcrop have returned significant results from trace up to 31 grams per tonne (gpt) gold. Drilling will also test the Rich House gold zone where visible native gold was noted in outcrop and selected grab samples returned assays from trace up to 189.2 gpt gold.

The Cape Ray/Victoria Lake regional fault zone hosts a number of gold deposits, including Marathon Gold's Valentine Lake deposit, located 30km to the northeast of the Staghorn, and Benton's Cape Ray gold deposits located approximately 100km to the southwest.
