Anton Paar
Great people | Great instruments
The “Anton Paar” success story began on January 4, 1922, when Anton Paar started his metalworking shop. Back then, it was hard to imagine that this one-man metalworking shop would one day become a global corporation. It’s not just the unique quality of their instruments, which they manufacture with exceptional craftsmanship and the highest precision. Above all, it’s the people at Anton Paar who approach their work with enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement.
The Anton Paar Group is active in more than 110 countries with 40 sales subsidiaries and nine producing firms in Europe and the USA. Meanwhile, more than 4,400 employees in a worldwide network of research and development, production, sales, and support are responsible for the quality, reliability, and service of products made by Anton Paar. Since 2003, the Charitable Santner Foundation has been the owner of Anton Paar. It is dedicated exclusively and directly to charitable purposes. In 2024, the company generated net sales revenue of 614 million euros.
Anton Paar provides a comprehensive portfolio of material characterization solutions tailored to the mining industry, covering the full range from the atomic to the macroscopic scale.
Its technologies support the investigation of ores, minerals, concentrates, and tailings across the entire mining value chain. Structure-focused methods such as X-ray analysis and spectroscopy enable precise phase identification and compositional insights, while solutions for particle characterization, rheological investigations, and viscometry support the optimization of grinding, flotation, and slurry transport processes.
To ensure reliable downstream analysis, the portfolio is complemented by microwave-assisted sample preparation systems, enabling fast, safe, and reproducible digestion of geological samples.
