Merrex Gold Commences 2011 Diamond Drill Program at Siribaya Gold Project

Merrex Gold has started the 2011 diamond drill program at the Siribaya gold project, West Mali. The company has planned to perform 10,000 metres of diamond drilling and also has predicted to drill up to 6,000 metres before the beginning of the seasonal rains.

Merrex will conduct in-fill drilling program at the western 1B substructure in Zone 1B NI 43-101 resource region and extension drilling to the north and south of Zone 1B resource area. The Reverse Circulation (RC) drill program conducted on the eastern 1A substructure has discovered strong mineralization targets and the company will analyze these targets.

The company has planned to conduct this 2011 diamond drill program in combination with the consulting geologists of ACA Howe International. Formerly, ACA has prepared the resource calculations for Siribaya gold project and is intending to enhance the present NI 43-101 resource calculation. IAMGOLD, the project operator will carry out this 2011 diamond drill program.
