Thermo Scientific™ ECA-3 Elemental Crossbelt Analyzer

The Thermo Scientific ECA-3 Elemental Coal Crossbelt Analyzer is an online system that provides rapid elemental analysis of the coal stream, enabling accurate sorting and precise blending to meet contract specifications.

The ECA-3 is a full-stream, on-the-belt, real-time measurement solution for vital coal streams, providing information that aids sorting, blending, and out-of-seam dilution operations.

Using industry-leading Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA), it delivers minute-by-minute data for clean, raw, and blended coals, reporting key parameters such as ash and sulfur content, as well as levels of compounds of interest (e.g., SiO2, Al2O3, and Fe2O3). An optional moisture analyzer adds measurements of moisture content and heating value to the reporting slate.

The ECA-3 can be used to robustly safeguard customer specifications at the pit, improve the productivity of preparation plants, and minimize the use of higher-quality, more expensive coals at power plants. By providing accurate, real-time measurements of coal composition, the ECA-3 enables precise control of coal grade and power plant feed with exceptional efficiency.

Features
