Canadian Mining Company Selects BioteQ to Complete Pilot Scale Evaluation of Selen-IX Technology

BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc., a leader in the treatment of mine waters, has secured a contract with a Canadian mining company to complete a pilot scale demonstration and evaluation of its Selen-IX™ technology to remove selenium from mine impacted water to less than 1 part per billion.

The project will utilize BioteQ's existing mobile Selen-IX™ pilot plant and the scope of work and associated contract value are similar to recently completed pilot projects using the same Selen-IX™ mobile unit. BioteQ has commenced mobilization of its plant and is expected to complete piloting in Q4 2015.

David Kratochvil, President & Chief Executive Officer at BioteQ commented, "This new pilot contract demonstrates the increasing focus on controlling selenium by mining companies, regulators and impacted communities. Selen-IX™ can help address these issues by removing selenium to ultra-low levels compliant with the most stringent regulations in the world, and produce significant life cycle cost savings compared to existing solutions particularly when the treatment horizon is greater than 10 years."
