The floods may not be the worst thing that miners will be facing in Queensland according to the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU). The CFMEU says that the mine workers in Queensland may also lose their jobs thanks to the heavy rains and floods.

Petrohawk Energy Sells Natural Gas Assets in Fayetteville Shale to XTO Energy

Petrohawk Energy Corporation (NYSE: HK) today announced that it has completed the sale of its natural gas assets in the Fayetteville Shale, located primarily in Cleburne and Van Buren Counties, Arkansas, to XTO Energy Inc., a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, for $575 million. The sale has an effective date of October 1, 2010.
