Adhunik Metaliks Commences Operations in Orissa

Indian steelmaker Adhunik Metaliks said that it had commenced operations at three mines in the Indian state of Orissa despite not having received all regulatory approvals to begin the development of the iron ore deposits in the state. The three mines in question are Tentulidihi, Sanpatholi and Kusunidihi.

Orissa Manganese and Minerals Limited (OMML), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Adhunik Metaliks, has already received the approval of the Central Empower Committee (CEC) for its mining operations in the Suleipat Iron Ore Mines. It is just waiting for the state approval to begin mining as per a company statement made to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company has already paid the Rs. 26 crore which was the NPV or Net Present Value of the three mines during the last quarter. The mining company is involved in exploration, development and processing of mineral assets in the state. It has a number of manganese and iron ore mines in the states of Orissa and Jharkhand.
