Sonora Resources to Continue Strike Extension of Mineralization
Sonora Resources has announced the expansion of its Los Amoles property size by an additional 1,960 hectares through land staking.
The new land package extends along the east and south of the already established mineralizing system. The Los Amoles property is situated surrounding a property owned by Peñoles, which is the second largest Mexican mining company.
Reconnaissance sampling aimed at evaluating the potential continuation of the greater than 800 meters of strike extension of the mineralization identified to date returned the
The following values were obtained from reconnaissance sampling .50 cm grading 0.41 g/t gold and 215.6 g/t silver; and 2.20 m averaging 0.39 g/t gold and 432.0 g/t silver. The sampling process was conducted to determine the potential of continuing strike extension of mineralization for more than 800 meters.
To date, more than 45 historic workings and more than 20 gold/silver veins have been identified within approximately 60% of the El Rosario target area that measures 1.0 by 2.5 kilometers. Additional fieldwork is planned to map and sample the remaining areas within the El Rosario target. This work will be done in advance of geophysics, which, in turn, will be done to demarcate priority locations for drilling.
