Finning International Becomes Mining Equipment Supplier for Thompson Creek

The Canadian division of Finning International is chosen as the mining equipment supplier by Thompson Creek Metals for their Mt. Milligan project.

Under this agreement, Finning will provide mining trucks, support equipment, parts and specific maintenance labour to the Mt. Milligan mine sited northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.

The company will deliver 42 machines including Caterpillar 793F mining trucks and support equipment to Thompson Creek's Mt. Milligan copper-gold mine during 2012.

Finning has considered the partnership with Thompson Creek as very important, because they help in developing their Mt. Milligan mine. The company has satisfied the customer and now is in the leading equipment supplier position in the mining division and also it tries to keep up that commitment to Thompson Creek.

Mt. Milligan is a conservative truck and shovel open pit mine and is under construction at present. The company has planned to begin production in 2013 with yearly metal production of 81 million pounds of copper and 194,000 ounces of gold in average over an expected 22-year mine life.
