Cabo Drilling has secured a drilling contract from MAN Alaska to drill at least 3,800 m in South Central Alaska. The project will be directed by Pure Nickel’s subsidiary, Nevada Star Resource.
A B2 helicopter has been used by the company to mobilize a S-2 fly drill to the project site. Cabo will start drilling several NQ2 holes at various elevations, once the drill rig is set. The design of the S-2 fly drills is in such a way that it can be transported easily by helicopter and are flexible and maneuverable for drilling isolated multiple holes.
The General Manager of Cabo Pacific division has commented that the company has the capacity to access the exploration projects using highly maneuverable drills, which offers them a chance to work with mining and exploration companies where the projects are situated. Cabo provides diamond core drilling services by means of small hydraulic and electric underground drills to perform mine expansion drilling, large track and skid mounted rigs to drill deep hole and helicopter fly and man portable drills to access remote locations.
