Cleveland Mining Company Limited announced the results of its drilling exploration program at the O Capitão Gold Project targeting the Dona Maria Garimpo. They have discovered significant gold bearing mineralization approximately 10 km away from the Premier Gold Project of the company.
The drilling has delineated a 250 meter strike length of multiple, stacked mineralized zones at variable down hole width of 0.4 meter to 16.50 meter per zone. There is also a chance of discovering more mineralization in the area.
The exploratory drilling was aimed at evaluating the mineralization potential in the north of the Garimpo Pit. It was a follow up of the mineralized intercepts found in the last drilling exploration program at the Donna Maria Garimpo. The program consisted of four diamond holes totaling 662.59m targeting the northern extension of the Garimpo Pit.
An additional six diamond holes totalling 742.03m targeting the Dona Maria Garimpo were also drilled. In the results gold-bearing mineralization was intercepted in four of the six holes drilled at the Dona Maria Garimpo. Seven additional holes were drilled to test the continuity of the mineralisation and all holes have intersected the targeted lithology. The assay results for the additional drill holes are pending.
