Pacific Ridge Exploration to Diamond Drill at Mariposa Property

Pacific Ridge Exploration has announced that it has been carrying out an exploration activity at the Mariposa gold project situated in the White Gold District of Yukon, since early June.

The company has scheduled to start a diamond drill program at the project in July second week. The phase I exploration of 2012 will primarily include drilling of about 2,500 m.

The 2012 exploration is specifically designed to examine the gold mineralization level obtained at the Skookum Main zone, to prospect further potential regions, and to prepare geophysical and geochemical target areas for the drill program. The company is targeting the Skookum main zone, in which gold were encountered in 14 out of 18 holes.

The company intersected 2.44 g/t gold over 38.9 m. Ground magnetic surveys, pitting and trenching have been included in further drill target improvement and definition in order to prepare for second drilling at Skookum Main. The 2012 drilling will contain in-fill holes so as to outline continuous gold mineralization, and step-out holes to examine possible expansions of the Skookum Main gold zone.

In 2011, Pacific Ridge carried out soil sampling that outlined drill target areas in the Big Alex zone, which is immediately lying towards the western part of placer gold mining works in Scroggie Creek. The values of gold are taken from open bedrock lying towards east of Scroggie Creek. Recently, the company has completed comprehensive ground magnetic surveys to prepare for planned drill program at this target.

Exploration will be conducted on the new Alberta Creek zone, during 2012. Alberta Creek lies approximately 10 km towards the eastern and southeastern parts of Skookum Main. This area of interest was initially discovered by extensively spaced soils, which were gathered during regional prospecting. In 2011, three gold-in-soil anomalies, which are open-ended, were identified by the results from over 500 grid-based soil auger sampling program.
