Uranium One Inc. has announced that it has completed the initial closing of its transaction with JSC Atomredmetzoloto, comprising the issuance of 178,127,165 new common shares of Uranium One to ARMZ in return for US$610 million in cash.

Novadx Ventures, MCoal Sign Coal Production Payment Agreement with Sandstorm Metals And Energy

Novadx Ventures Corp. (TSX VENTURE:NDX) has announced that it, together with its wholly owned subsidiary, MCoal Corporation, has entered into a Coal Production Payment Agreement and an Additional Coal Purchase Agreement with Sandstorm Metals and Energy Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SND) to sell a production interest in three coal streams in return for a US$38 million advance payment and subsequent additional payments to be received on shipment of coal.

Candorado Signs Agreement to Buy Property Near Eldor Rare Earth Element Property

Candorado Operating Company Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:CDO) (FRANKFURT:HQU) (BERLIN:HQU) has announced today, subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval, that it has entered into an agreement with a private vendor to earn a 100% interest in property located adjacent to Commerce Resources Corp.'s Eldor rare earth element project in Quebec.

Xstrata Extends Offer for Sphere

Xstrata has extended its AUD$515 million offer to Australian iron ore company Sphere by three weeks to the date December 17. The wholly owned subsidiary company of Xstrata known as Sidero already holds 73.1% of the shares in Sphere when the offer closed on November 24.

Judge Drops Charges in Murder Trial of South African Mining Magnate

Glenn Agliotti, a convicted South African drug smuggler, has been acquitted of the murder of Brett Kebble, a mining magnate. The trial which began in July after seven postponements ended with the acquittal verdict on Thursday by Judge Frans Kgomo.

Rio Tinto to Open Underground Mining Research Facility in Ontario

An investment of $10 million will be made by Rio Tinto over the next five years to create a centre to research underground mine construction in Ontario, Canada. The project in partnership with the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) will be based in Sudbury Ontario.
