Newcrest Mining is likely to get a boost in its stock value with a secondary listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange as per JP Morgan. Lihir Gold was delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange when it was taken over by Newcrest Mining last year.
In Brazil the government is looking forward to a larger share from mining profits. Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said she hoped that the new legislation which seeks to limit foreign investment in the mining sector will be approved this year.

Clifton Star Resources and Osisko Mining have announced high grade intersections at their Duparquet project in Quebec. The promising results come from their 2010 drilling program at the project on the Donchester property.
Capstone Mining Corp reported lower copper concentrate production in the fourth quarter at its Cozamin mine. The mine located in Mexico in the Zacatecas State was operating at 50% of its production level during that period.
