London Mining PLC, a UK based company, has released a scoping study for its Isua project in Greenland. The 15 million tonnes per annum iron ore mining operation has already seen a pre-feasibility study of 10 million tonnes a year being completed by the company.
The Obama administration's commitment to the preservation of the environment may be causing a lot of raised eyebrows in the mining industry but they are going ahead with it anyhow. U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said that banning uranium mining near the Grand Canyon for twenty years is part of a proposal in a draft study.

Intergra Mining (ASX:IGR) has raised $40 million in a placement of 83.3 million shares priced at 48 cents a piece. The placement was majorly oversubscribed and it was managed by BBY Limited. Integra Mining was first listed in the Australian Stock Exchange in 2001.

The deal for the project located in the James Bay region in northern Quebec was approved of by the Grand Council of Crees and the Cree Regional Authority unanimously on February 3. This was a week after the deal was formally approved of by the Waskaganish community.
