In 1994, The Singareni Collieries Company Limited a government company took over APHMEL as its subsidiary company.
APHMEL is located at Kondapalli, which is a serene village on the banks of the river Krishna, a 25 km drive from the city of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Kondapalli is famous for its handicraft toy works.
