Nemaska Files Last Reports for Review of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment on Whabouchi Mine

Nemaska Lithium Inc. is pleased to announces that it has filed today with the Quebec Review Committee (COMEX) the last reports required for their review of Nemaska's Environmental and Social Impact Assessment on the Whabouchi mine and concentrator filed in April 2013.

The filing of these last reports is the last step before the COMEX public hearings that are currently scheduled to be held during the month of February or March 2015 according to information released by the Cree Nation Government.

The COMEX public hearings will constitute the final step before the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, and The Fight against Climate Change (MDDELCC) makes the decision to issue the certificate of authorization required to build and operate the Whabouchi mine.

Nemaska will also have filed these reports with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) prior to December 23, 2014. The CEAA held public consultations in the Cree community of Nemaska on the project in November 2013. The filing of these documents constitutes the final step before the CEAA issues its Environmental Assessment (EA) Report for public consultation. The EA Report is key to the Minister of Environment Canada to issue his EA Decision Statement on the environmental evaluation of the project.

"Following the filing of the feasibility study last June and the signature on November 7 of the Chinuchi Agreement with the Cree Nation of Nemaska, the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) and the Cree Nation Government, we believe we have taken all the necessary steps toward attaining the permits required to build and operate the Whabouchi lithium mine," commented Guy Bourassa, President CEO of Nemaska.
