Sirios Uncovers High-Potential for Early-Stage Mining at Cheechoo With Eclipse Drilling

A 1,000 m diamond drilling program has been launched by the management of Sirios Resources Inc. The goal of this program is to include the high-grade Eclipse area in the Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE) update for the Cheechoo property.

Eclipse area is not included in the updated 2022 MRE, which included 1.4 million gold ounces and 500,000 gold ounces). The eclipse area is located west of the main Cheechoo gold deposit.

Highlights

  • The high-grade Eclipse zone was delineated by previous drilling spanning a distance of about 120 m laterally, 2 to 6 m in breadth, and more than 250 m deep.
  • In the Eclipse area, many periods of high- and extremely high-grade gold intersected.
  • At Eclipse, visible gold grains are present together with a variety of quartz-feldspar veins, veinlets, and stockworks housed in a tonalite intrusion. Arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite are commonly found in veins 0.5 to 1% deep.

Due to the high-grade gold content of the Eclipse zone, we can foresee an underground mining scenario using ramp access for this zone that would enable us to reach the mining operation stage more quickly. This underground operation would then set the stage for starting large-scale open-pit mining in the main area of the Cheechoo deposit.
