Mauritania Issues New Mining Permits
Mining is getting a solid boost in Mauritania with the government handing out a license for a new phosphate mine.
The Bofal Indo Mining Co is to establish the phosphate mine in the Bofal-Loubeira area as per the Agence Mauritanienne d’Information.
The state owned agency said that mine in the south west Bofal-Loubeira area will include a phosphoric acid processing plant. The plant will be based in Nouakchott and will be constructed within the next three years.
The Agence Mauritanienne d’Information awarded exploration licenses for two gold projects to Piedras Ornamentales Hergha SL.
The agency also said that the Elite Earth Minerals and Metals was given an iron ore exploration deal in Lekcheiouatt. Curve Capital Ventures Limited also got an iron ore development permit in Louted and Akjoujt areas.
