Alara Resources Intersects High Grade Copper Gold in Oman

Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) has identified high grade copper at the Daris Copper Project in Oman via three diamond drill holes.

Copper highlights include 6.6m at 8.96% copper as copper sulphides from 36.65m, including 3.25m at 11.45% copper from 40m and additionally, 3.15m at 2.36% copper as copper sulphides from 45.85m.

The company is now likely to conduct an airborne survey to cover prospective areas in the project. The helicopter based electromagnetic VTEM survey will focus on previously identified high grade copper and gold intersections in the area.

The company will then design a new drilling program which will target previously drilled mineralization and additional new high priority targets.

Alara Resources is reviewing a number of exploration opportunities at present. It is in negotiations with vendors and governments in more than one overseas project. It has a solid holding cash position of $1.6 million as displayed on 30 June 2010. It is looking for value opportunities to exploit in the resources sector.
