Bison Gold Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BGE) has announced that drilling commenced on the Central Manitoba Property on November 30, 2010 and the first drill hole has been completed.
The first hole tested the up-dip extension of the mineralization intersected in drill hole OG-09-07, 34.99 g/t Au over a drill core width of 4.76 metres (the Ogama zone). The hole intersected the same mineralized structure at the predicted depth. This mineralized structure consists of a strongly altered shear zone with abundant quartz veining and 10-15% sulphide minerals (chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pyrite) throughout. Visible gold was identified within this interval and two other shear zones within the hanging wall of the Ogama Zone. Assays for this drill hole are pending and the Company expects to receive and report results by mid-January. The next drill hole will test the down-dip extension of the mineralized structure intersected in OG-09-07 and the first drill hole of this program.
All exploration activities for Bison Gold are under the supervision and guidance of David C. Benson, P.Geo, and a Qualified Person under NI 43-101. Mr. Benson has reviewed the technical portions of this news release.
