Columbus Gold has started drilling at Eastside gold project in Nevada. The 3,048 m drilling program will have up to 20 Reverse Circulation (RC) holes.
The Eastside Project is located around 40 km west of Tonopah, Nevada. Columbus Gold has complete control over the Eastside Project subject to underlying royalties.
Sampling at Eastside project outcrops yield gold values up to 7.95 g/t over 900 m of strike length along a northerly-trending zone of silicified breccia. Most of the samples exceed 0.15 g/t with number of areas running from 0.8 to 3.5 g/t.
Mineralization is present in breccia zones along with quartz veins in altered Tertiary volcanic and sub-volcanic rocks. The highest gold values look closely related with breccia zones along the margins of intrusive rhyolite flow-domes.
There is an additional and a few prospect pits scattered across the Eastside property. Three historic drill holes are present on the east margin of the property, but testing of identified mineralization is not done in the recent sampling.
