Cluff Gold has received a new licence for gold exploration in Western Mali. This gold exploration licence occurs in the highly potential Mali Birrimian Kenieba Inlier belt, 300km west of Bamako, which is the capital of Mali that holds numerous first-class gold deposits as well as the Loulo mine of Randgold, Gounkoto project and Sadiola mine of AngloGold Ashanti.
The licence region envelops an area of 109 km2 and has a three year term and can be renewed twice for successive stages of every three years.
When the licence across 3.6km-long Mamoudouya shear zone with a 200+ppb gold anomaly, was subjected to historical trenching it intersected 2.35g/t gold over 24m and 2.13g/t gold over 12m. Also the historical airborne geophysics analysis proposes that Mamoudouya is distinguished by crosscutting north-northeast inclined structures originated from the key Senegalo-Malian shear. This structural setting is identical to that viewed at the Loulo and Tabakoto gold mines. Cluff has taken a grab sample from the shear zone and has encountered 8.1g/t.
Cluff Gold has assigned US$1.5 million fund for the Mamoudouya exploration work in 2011, including ground geophysics and a 2,000m trenching intended to describe primary drill targets.
