ECU Silver Mining Updates on Drilling at Durango, Mexico
ECU Silver Mining provided an update on the drilling program it is currently undertaking at its Velardena District Properties in Durango, Mexico. The update was regarding the drill hole SJ-18-21 which has already intersected two massive sulphide veins.
The high performance deep diamond drill that is reaming out the drill hole SJ-18-21 is hoping to go beyond the current 800 meters depth of the hole. The drill hole is being re-drilled with a ‘BQ’ size 60 mm diamond drill and has already reached approximately 600 meters depth.
A larger NQ drill bit of 76 mm size was to be used to ream the hole but the original drill hole contained areas of collapsed material and could not be used. As a precaution against deviation of the parent hole the new drill hole is being re-drilled with the smaller ‘BQ’ sized bit after which the drill will switch to an ‘NQ’ size bit and compete the reaming of the parent hole to 800 meters.
Using the ‘NQ’ bit the original parent hole has been reamed out to about 471 meters. This is about 60% of the targeted depth of the hole. After completing the parent hole the drill will core below the 800 meter level by four daughter holes that will branch off from the main parent borehole. These will be used to check the zone for multiple intercepts potential.
