Canadian Platinum Explores Prioritized Target Anomaly at Flin Flon South Project

Canadian Platinum has explored the existence of a high priority target anomaly at the Flin Flon South project.

The Borehole Pulse EM Surveys conducted recently has shown the occurrence of a strong off-hole conductor at the end of the holes 33 and 34, drilled 1.7 km towards the western part of the previous Westarm mine. This project has two claims, totaling 17,386 A, to the southern part of the Flin Flon town in Saskatchewan.

The location of this project is around 15 km towards the southern portion of a productive mining camp and the company has produced more than 100,000,000 t of copper-zinc ore at this project. The 777 Mine has proven resources of 4.4 Mt grading 3.1% copper, 2.4 g/t gold, 4% zinc and 25.7 g/t silver, and 11.2 Mt of probable reserves grading 5% zinc, 2.1% copper and also precious metals grades to the proven reserves.

Koop Geotechnical’s President, Dave Koop, and the company that conducted the surveys, have commented that off-hole anomaly was modeled with a high conductance source under the surveyed holes. Crone’s Chief Geophysicist, Kevin Ralph, was supervising the information. The results were positive and the company is expecting to outline this anomaly’s nature.

Borehole PULSE EM System from Crone was utilized by Koop Geotechnical. This system is identical to that used by HudBay Minerals.

The region of the Borehole Pulse EM anomaly and latest drilling was focused after receiving the anomalous values from a mobile metal ions (MMI) sampling campaign.

The company has planned a DeepEM geophysical survey to trace the VTEM geophysical targets and the borehole anomaly in the region. Koop Geotechnical Services was requested to conduct a deep penetrating surface PULSE EM survey. Canadian Platinum will start the drill program during February 2011, once the modeling results are obtained from this survey.
