Calvista Gold Begins Phase II Drilling Program at California Valley Project

Calvista Gold, a mineral exploration company, declared that it has started the Phase II diamond drilling campaign at its California Valley project. The drilling campaign was started on March 20, 2012, and includes about 5,000 m of triple tube diamond core drilling along with 2,500 m of drilling scheduled for Buenavista and Callejon Blanco prospects.

The ALS Group of certified laboratories will prepare and assay the samples using Calvista Gold’s quality control/quality assurance procedures. Logan Drilling Colombia S.A.S. will mobilize two drilling machines at the site.

Calvista Gold’s CEO, Mark Haywood informed that the main goal of the Phase II drill campaign is to boost the prospective mineral resource estimate. James Steel of GENIVAR is currently preparing the resource estimate.

In addition, the company is making preparations for a phase III drill campaign, which is planned to feature 10,000 m of diamond core drilling. The drilling campaign is anticipated to begin once the Phase II drilling program is completed.

Calvista Gold focuses on exploration, procurement and development of properties for mining gold and other minerals. The company’s Colombian headquarters is located in Bucaramanga and the head office is based in Toronto. The management team has more than five decades of experience in mining and exploration activities. The company’s prospects in the California Valley are situated beneath 3,200 m, and remain unaffected by the Paramo ecosystem law.
