Independence Energy Announces Arrival of Drill Rig at Shields-MEI #105H Horizontal Well

Independence Energy has confirmed the arrival of contracted drill rig at the proposed well location in Texas, in order to drill the Shields-MEI #105H horizontal well.

The project operator of the company, MontCrest Energy (MEI) has been selected to change the original proposed drilling campaign and has intended to drill the Shields-MEI #105H well as the primary of the two well MontCrest program. After the company completes the drilling of the Shields-MEI #105H, it has planned to drill the Vaughn-MEI #106 well in the vertical direction.

MEI has engaged Sharewell Energy Services for drilling the Shields-MEI #105H well. Deployment of Sharewell's own ElectroTrac Electro Magnetic- Measurement While Drilling (EM-MWD) system has been done in many key unconventional and conventional basins, which also include Barnett Shale, Haynesville Shale, Fayetteville Shale, Marcellus Shale, New Albany Shale and the Rocky Mountains.

The Gardner Sandstone formation may be targeted by the Shields-MEI #105H, which will take 13-15 days for completion. Geologists of the project are looking forward that the well may have a prospective 1500'+/- horizontal leg occurring in the Gardner Sandstone target pay zone. Testing the structural mapping and offset well logs has shown that the prospective reservoir may return pay zone of up to a 20'+ thick along with 25% water saturation and 15% to 18% porosity.

Drilling of the Shields-MEI #105H horizontal well is included in the highly potential MontCrest Energy drill program #3 carried out in Texas. The MontCrest program includes a turnkey participation in two wells that focus on several oil bearing sand formations, which were formerly producing in the area.
