Golden Predator Intersects Gold Mineralization at Moosehead Zone

Golden Predator has reported that results have been obtained from nine diamond holes drilled at the Moosehead zone located at the company’s flagship Brewery Creek project. These are the preliminary diamond holes drilled on the Moosehead zone, and have encountered expansions to mineralization excavated by former operators.

Location Map

The company has intersected 1.24 g/t gold over 12.0 m and 0.96 g/t gold over 26.9 m in hole BC12-460; 1.01 g/t gold over 16.8 m in hole BC12-462; and 3.23 g/t gold over 9.7 m and 1.22 g/t gold over 59.2 m in hole BC12-466.

The Moosehead zone is located 2.1 km towards the eastern part of the Big Rock zones and 5.1 km towards the western portion of the Schooner and Bohemian zones. Viceroy Minerals, a former operator, explored this zone from a small open pit towards the closing stages of operations carried out at Brewery Creek. The most part of the deposit towards southwest, the mineralization located at depth, and the sediments found towards the northeastern part were not explored.

The mineralization is mainly present in an altered monzonite sill that dips in southeast direction and strikes towards northeast and is covered by Earn group sediments. Results have shown that the thickness of sill is about 80 m and it can be outlined about 400 m along strike. Mineralization is intersected towards west through a sharp brittle fault, and stays exposed along strike towards northeast and down dip.

Mineralized gold has been encountered along strike, by conducting historic drilling and trenching programs in this northeast sedimentary package. This strike expands beyond the previously explored region.

The company’s drilling in 2012 was specifically designed to expand the prominent mineralization down dip and along strike. The company has additionally drilled three PQ holes at the Moosehead zone in order to supply material for column leach tests.
