Sierra Iron Ore to Send Ore Samples for Metallurgical Testing to China

Sierra Iron Ore made an announcement that it plans to collect 550 kilos of iron ore sample from the Veinte Zone, which is located in the El Creston property. The sample will then be sent to China for metallurgical testing.

Around 25 kilo samples will be obtained from sample holes drilled 10 meters apart. Fine sizing, levels of by-product and magnetite iron grade will be determined by the testing process. An independent inspection company will be hired by Sierra Iron Ore Corp to analyze and maintain the quality of the samples during shipment.

President and CEO of Sierra Iron Ore, Wally Boguski, said that they were happy with the first assay results that were announced on 27 August, 2012, which caught the attention of a number of potential off-takers who made contact with their company. He also said that his company was conducting the metallurgical testing in an independent manner and will announce the results once the samples are completely processed.

The results of the previous assay test conducted on the company’s core drill program were announced on 27 August, 2012. This result was the basis for going in for a metallurgical testing this time. Six drill holes of the first eight holes were found to intersect iron bands with 30% or more iron ore, as shown by the results. The assay results of the six holes showed presence of around 45% iron to a depth of 33 m, and around 30% iron to a depth of 66 m.
