Imperial Metals Extends Mineralized System at Red Chris’ Gully Zone

Imperial Metals has announced that the exploration drilling at Gully zone has shown the expansion of the mineralized system to at least 1 km to the present Red Chris project’s western part pit design.

Xstrata's Cloncurry Mine Commences Underground Operations

The new underground copper mine near Cloncurry, Queensland, Australia being developed by Xstrata saw work commence this week. The previous open cut mining site is being converted into an underground operation in a bid to extend the life of the mine until 2024.
