Harmony Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:H) announces that it has entered into a option agreement, subject to regulatory approval, with ECI Exploration and Mining Inc. to acquire up to a 70% interest in ECI's Purisima Project located in the state of Nayarit, in west-central Mexico.

Canadian International Mineral Buys Mineral Claims in Prairie Lake Properties, Ontario

Iron Ore Production Kicks Off at Spinifex Ridge

Moly Mines (TSX,ASX:MOL) owned Spinifex Ridge has commenced production. The mine is located 50 km north east of the Marble Bar in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The crushing and screening processing plant has been completed and commercial iron ore production has now begun.

Kinross Gold to Invest Heavily at Mauritania Mine and School

Kinross Gold Corporation announced that it would commit $10 million over the next three years to develop a mining school in Mauritania. Tye Burt the president and chief executive officer of the company said that the mining school and training centre would be useful to the mining community.
