AuRo Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:ARU) provides today a general corporate update about its numerous activities.
The Company's principal focus is advancing its flagship El Tesoro project, and also continues to actively assess numerous exploration opportunities in Colombia. AuRo is currently in the midst of its trenching & sampling program at El Tesoro, in preparation for the commencement of an up to 5,000 meter diamond drilling program in January, 2011.
Mark Lawson, President & CEO of AuRo Resources said, "In less than 6 months we have completed the El Tesoro acquisition, conducted 2 successful sampling programs, commenced our pre-drill campaign and are planning our first drill campaign. Given the impressive gold and silver showings we have seen to date, we are eager to start drilling. The company's recent name change also better reflects our new status as an active gold exploration company with an advancing project."
Update on the El Tesoro Pre-Drilling Campaign
The current trenching program is designed to develop drill targets to be tested in a core drilling campaign planned for late 2010. Twelve 20 meter long trenches for a total of 240 meters will be dug to a depth appropriate for the location determined in the field but likely 1.5 m or deeper. The Company has the option to expand the trenching program to 1,000 meters. The Company has also recently completed mapping the Northern Zone of the project. The results to date have been consistently positive registering values that meet or exceed the Company's targets.
Land Package
To complement the Company's flagship El Tesoro project, AuRo Resources will seek to opportunistically expand its land package within Colombia. The Company continues to explore further exploration, and advanced stage opportunities within the country in conjunction with its local partner.
Management
Given the Company's increased field activities in Colombia, AuRo Resources will soon be engaging a full time leader of the technical team to be based in Colombia.
