Rover Metals Declares Acquisition of Tobin Gold Project

Rover Metals Corp. declared the acquisition of the Tobin Gold Project located in the Mt. Tobin range, northern Nevada. The Tobin Project is situated 77 km by road south of the city of Winnemucca, NV, and it is in the heart of a rich gold jurisdiction that has evidenced large consolidation in the last two years.

Tobin Gold Project

Rover has obtained a 100% interest in the Tobin Gold Project (“Tobin”) that contains 68 claims within BLM land, for a sum of 1,405 acres (or 569 hectares). Set in Mesozoic rocks, Tobin is a Carlin-style gold system. The project is situated about 40 km from the functioning Phoenix Gold Mine that is held by Nevada Gold Mines — a joint venture between Newmont and Barrick.

Tobin is also situated around 50 km from SSR’s Marigold Mine, 60 km from i-80 Gold’s Lone Tree Gold Mine, and in close vicinity to other established gold deposits held by SSR Mining, i-80 Gold, and Kinross.

The property is located in the historical Mt. Tobin mercury district inside an area of extensive silicification and banded chalcedony veins across an area stretching several square kilometers. Both stratabound and structural jasperoids exist in the neighboring Paleozoic and Triassic carbonate and fine-grained clastic sediments beside the range-front structure and higher in the range.

During a program of BLEG stream sediment sampling, the prospect area was determined. The follow-up rock chip sampling found above and along the range front proved that there are several structures carrying mineralization.

The values of gold run as high as 2.3 g/t Au, with several samples possessing gold content from 200 ppb Au to 1000 ppb Au. On the other hand, pathfinder elements run as high as 1100 ppm, 200 ppm Sb, and 29 ppm Hg. At the Tobin Project, mineralization seems to be localized across two subparallel trends.

The range-front fault is the first, and the structural zone is the second one, which is situated many tens of meters over the valley, which trends rather obliquely to the range-front. Up until now, the better-mineralized rocks were majorly gathered from the second structure situated higher on the mountain front.

The Tobin Gold Project is our first reverse circulation (“RC”) drilling project in our first low-cost exploration jurisdiction. Our portfolio of gold projects is now complete. We now have the perfect summer/fall project in Tobin, to offset our northern Canadian gold projects, which are typically best explored in the winter months.
