Breitling Oil and Gas is nearly completing the Magnolia #1 in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. The drilling has achieved a vertical depth of 4,500 feet in total.
Using Log analysis, the well has intercepted numerous possible productive zones above a gross gap in Earlsboro Sand formation from 3626 feet to 3648 feet; the Woodford Shale from 3972 feet to 4130 feet; the Hunton from 4130 feet to 4165 feet; the Simpson from 4344 feet to 4356 feet; and the Wilcox from 4394 feet to 4408 feet.
The company had confirmed the plan for testing and drilling completion on March 20 and the rig and crew moved to the location on March 22, 2011. The company has identified five potential pay zones on the way with attractive mud log shows. The Woodford Shale has 158 feet of attractive horizontal zones which is to be tested.
The geologists and engineers of Breitling have run a density-neutron log, microlog and an induction log and determined a pipe-based analysis and Weatherford Laboratories analysis of Magnolia #1 logs. These productive zones have better porosity.
