Breitling Oil and Gas Commences Spud of Breitling-Bear Run #1H Well

Breitling Oil and Gas, a Texas-based independent exploration and production company, has reported that the company has commenced spudding the Breitling-Bear Run #1H located in Custer County of Oklahoma. The spudding started on 2 April, 2012.

This is the primary horizontal well in the Bear Run horizontal Cottage Grove development prospect of the company. Breitling will drill this Bear Run prospect to 13,000 ft of total measured depth. The company has the potential to drill around eight horizontal wells through the Cottage Grove formation. This oil-bearing formation is ideal for horizontal drilling because of high volumes of oil and dependable predictability of deposition of sand.

The company’s management is expecting that the well will attain its total measured depth in approximately 34 days. Final operations and hydraulic fracture stimulation may be conducted in the first week of May 2012.

According to Chris Faulkner, the CEO of Breitling Oil and Gas, the company has learned significantly from the previous results obtained from the vertical Cottage Grove wells. He commented that the former results showed fracture growth through tip screenout and barriers that offered a basis for alteration in scheduling sand during treatment and in frack treatment design, which will be used in this well.
