Galantas Gold has prepared arrangements to raise the total number of Core Drilling Rigs to four at Omagh property in Northern Ireland.
Currently, one Core Drilling rig under contract, is in service and the company expects the delivery of the second contracted rig by mid-May 2011.
Galantas has ordered for a new additional Core Drilling rig. The company expects the CS14 equipment from Atlas Copco to arrive at the site by the end of May 2011. Atlas Copco estimates a depth capability of 800 metres for the "H" size core and 1200 metres for "N" size core. The cost is around £265,000 plus VAT, without drill string.
The company has also bought a used core drilling rig. American Auger has made this tracked, sub-horizontal core drilling rig and bought it for £16,500 plus VAT . Prior to beginning operation, it will need full renovation and conversion to vertical drilling. Galantas expects this renovation to create multipurpose core-drilling unit having around Atlas Copco unit’s half the depth capacity, budgeted at £20,000. The rig will be likely in use at around the end of June 2011.
