OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações Identifies Hydrocarbons in Albian Section of OGX-33 Well

OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações, the Brazilian Oil and Natural gas Exploration Company, has identified the occurrence of hydrocarbons in the Albian segment of the 1-OGX-33-RJS well that is situated in the BM-C-41 block, in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin. OGX has earned 100% working interest in this BM-C-41 block.

The company has found an oil column of around 95 meters with net pay about 42 meters in the carbonate reservoirs of the Albian division. OGX has completed drilling of the OGX-33 well, which is also called as the Chimborazo prospect, at an ultimate depth of 3,755 meters.

The location of OGX-33 well is 84 kilometers off the shore of Rio de Janeiro at a water depth of 127 meters in approximate. On April 9, 2011, Pride Venezuela, the drill rig left the well. The company has commenced drilling of the third expansion well, OGX-42, of the Pipeline accumulation.
